The Magic of marketing
I'm a digital marketing consultant based in Los Angeles, California. I specialize in helping startups and small businesses engage more of their highest-value customers. As an online marketing consultant, I customize marketing plans for each of my clients based on what makes them unique, starting with their brand story.
My own story is quite different from that of other marketing professionals; it begins in the mountains of West Virginia, where I earned my MFA in poetry and creative writing, taught English to first-generation college students, and wrote my first book.
Since then, I have accrued 15+ years of marketing experience for startups, large corporations, small businesses, and independent professionals. I've learned that just like stories, effective marketing strategies are not one-size-fits-all. To grab the attention of potential customers from the competition, you must communicate what makes you different.

AboutMaggie Glover, PresidentBorn and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Maggie Glover now lives and works in Los Angeles. She is the owner and president of Glover Digital Marketing.
Maggie has 10+ years of experience in online marketing, beginning her career as one of the first employees of ModCloth.com. In addition to creating ModCloth’s social media communities from the ground up, she created and implemented community marketing strategy to crowdsourcing fashion-production programs like Be the Buyer. She also served as the company's first product marketing leader, successfully orchestrating the marketing campaign of ModCloth's very first iOS app. Her efforts earned the app two features from Apple within weeks of launch (an Apple store spotlight and a dedicated post on Apple's Facebook page). Since leaving ModCloth in August 2013, Maggie’s worked for established companies, successful start-ups, small businesses, independent professionals, and social influencers. She has managed teams as large as 25 and is proud to consider leadership and mentorship as two of her strengths. Thanks to her start-up background, Maggie is accustomed to wearing multiple hats, drinking from the fire hose, and getting "stuff" done. She is adept at high-level strategy as well as execution and analysis, and feels most at home when facing a challenge head-on with creative, outside-of-the-box thinking. |
Prior to her marketing career, Maggie completed her Bachelor's degree in English (Writing) from Denison University in 2005 and her Master-of-Fine-Arts degree in Writing (Poetry) at West Virginia University in 2008. While earning her MFA, she taught English and Creative Writing classes to undergraduate students.
Her first book of poetry, How I Went Red, was published by Carnegie Mellon University in 2014. Recently, her writing has been featured in Best American Experimental Writing 2016, jubilat, Ninth Letter, and other literary journals. You can find out more about her poetry and publications here. When she’s not writing or working, Maggie is a day-foster-mom to a very special (and a wee bit famous) kitten and volunteers with a feral kitten rescue (The Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats), listens to true crime podcasts, and catches up on sleep. |

I started out my career at ModCloth reporting to Maggie, who at the time was the first-ever Marketing Campaign Manager. Maggie is the type of manager that makes you happy to come into work everyday. She gave us the resources to help us excel at our jobs, offered clear direction and advice, and she has excellent interpersonal skills. The one marketing lesson she taught me, that will always resonate, is rewarding and promoting customer creativity. I am continuously inspired by her ability to create engaging, innovative, and on brand experiences for ModCloth customers.
